Substitution for fiber washers - Carbs

Post by frank drakman » Mon Dec 17, 2001 9:25 am

TC 9028 is up and running. Hopefully front wings will be back on by the weekend..then interior..then hood.
We have found fuel leaking from around the fiber washers which sit between the banjo bolt, fuel line banjo and the carb cover.. I have tightened the banjo bolt as tight as I dare (considering the carb top is only made of aluminum) but I still have a very slight fuel leak. The surfaces all look fine and the indent of the banjo faces the banjo bolt head. I am thinking I may want to use a different type of washer rather the very hard Abingdon fibre washers. Dose anyone on the List use a different type of washer for this application?
