Friends,
The TABC list has grown so much over the past year, that many of you are
newcomers, and won't know the following: A year of so back, I let the list
know about my plans for the disposition of my ashes. Ever helpful, several
TABC members promptly offered suggestions as to the design & construction of
a "suitable receptacle for said ashes. One (I believe it was Austin Baer)
came up with what I consider to be the ultimate solution to my need, and sent
a sketch of it to the List. I still have a copy of it, but it's somewhere
among a pile of TABC message printouts that must be well over a foot high.
Maybe yhis word descroption will suffice for now:
Picture a chrome-plated container, octagonal (what else) in shape, with
the letters "R.I.P." substituted for "MG" on one face, and a suitable epitah
engraved on the other face to identify its contents. This RIP container
could be mounted to the badge bar of the TC, but other locations are also
possible.
Before anyone asks, the capacity of the RIP container would probably not
be large enough to contain much more than a representative sample of the
ashes of the dear departed. (It would have to be pretty large to accommodate
the ashes of some of us, I'm sure -- No offense intended to any largish
TCers out there.
I know of a small foundry nearby which could produce such a container or
"repository" if any of you are interested.

I believe you have the wrong car! Your correspondence suggests an answer to
the question as to why Abingdon encoded its T-Types as A, B, C, D and F (no
E)
TA = Transport Ashes
TB = Transport Bier
TC = Transport Coffin
TD = Transport Dead
TF = Transport Funeral
and
TE = Transport Empty
Unless TC = Transport Crematorium!
