All,
My car, TC #3443, has an aftermarket replacement locking gas cap installed
on the gas tank. The replacement is attached to the tank filler neck with
at least three screws. I do not know if the DPO who installed this cap
ruined the filler neck for retrofitting an original cap and lever. The
replacement cap is currently functional and unobtrusive. However, I would
like to replace this gas cap with an original cap and lever at some point in
the future.
Therefore, I am looking for an original gas cap assembly including the cap
itself, the operating lever, and the filler neck that is attached to the
tank. I would prefer to have an original; however, ...
Moss Motors sells a replacement gas cap assembly (Moss Part No. 407-100)
with a threaded sleeve (filler neck?) that is welded in place of the
original tank neck. Has anyone gone this route and would care to comment on
the quality and appearance of this replacement?
Thanks,
