oil leak & Goop
David & Joyce,
After converting my TC to the Chev seal I discovered several leaks
that I had never noticed before, mostly sump and timing cover
joints. (Note to those doing engine rebuilds....make sure the bearer
plate is flat...mine has a couple tweeks the timing cover bridges
over).
I cleaned the area of the leaks and calked with clear "GOOP",
available in any hardware store. It is the most tenacious stuff I have
ever used. Clear is not too noticeable.
After the rear seal job I became a "leak freak" and was determined
to chase down each and every one. I had to give up to protect what
little sanity I have left. But a few drops after a week instead of a
lake in a few minutes is something to be happy with.
