Obsolete parts
I have been searching for sometime for an original SFT 462 Lucas fog lamp. I have come close on two ebay auctions, but no cigar. By accident I was surfing the net within the various MG links, and came across Gregorys Autoparts, a small parts firm in England that specializes in 1930-1950 spare parts. Their website(under construction) is www.gregorys.demon.co.uk/home and they list a substantial number of parts, including a restored SFT 462. I tried e-mail but ended up calling them and ordered the fog lamp for my 1948 TC at a price of 160 pounds, including airmail shipping. The lamp came in today, and it is as if I have died and gone to TC Heaven! The lamp is an original that has been rechromed and rewired. I have not put it on my car yet, but just seeing it in front of me on my desk is superb. Service was great and if you need some obscure part, especially lamps, mirrors, etc. Try them out. It is nice to have a good experience the first time out with an overseas supplier. WW Cordin TC 6749

Re: Obsolete parts
WW Cordin, Are you related to Carl Cederstrand? He "Dies and goes to Heaven" everytime he gathers a rare part... Of course, if it is made out of STAINLESS STEEL it becomes indescribable....... It probably would not even be placed on the car but encased in glass on a velvet cushion in a triple security vault, only to be viewed by photograph. Then he would have a duplicate machined out of a solid block of SSteel which if done well enough would get another pedestal. The car would never get the component.
