Gentlemen:
I have been "talking" with a few people who think there is enough interest to
PERHAPS start a Vintage Sports Car Touring Club with the initial aim of
putting on a re-run of the Michigan Miglia. That was an SCCA event that ran
 around Lake Michigan.
We don't want it to be a MG only event, or Porsche, or Jaguar, etc., but to
cater to all marques-pre 196X or so. We would like to foster a friendly
discussion as how "our" cars are better than "their" cars.
It would be a Monte Carlo type start, i.e., teams from Chicago, Detroit,
Milwaukee, etc., will converge on Gingerman Raceway where this VERY low
pressure event will start and go through the UP and around to Elkhart Lake.
It would actually be more of tour than a rally but rather than admit that no
one actually knows how to use a Curta we'll make this a low pressure event.
More social than anything. We'll probably have a concours, in the traditional
sense-not the "who has used the most cotton swabs on their oil filter
housing"- rather than the current Armor-All between the tire threads. Ladies
would wear some type of "fashion" while the gentlemen will discuss how the
grass is greener on the other side of the hill.
Trophies will consist of some really crappy junk taken out of my garage and,
perhaps, cleaned and mounted on some really cheesy wooden base. In other
words, NO EGO gratification for winning anything. I will try to scam, uh...
procure, some prizes from the various stores in the area. Saks for the
ladies, Ed's Corner Tap for the guys, etc....
We're looking at mid-may. Spring should be in full force but the hordes of
tourist will not have been let out yet.
If anyone is interested or has any comments both good and bad please contact
 me.
 Thanks

 Ron
