Anyone Know

Post by JTPAKI@aol.com » Fri Jun 15, 2001 7:02 am

Sorry to bomb the T-list with non T car stuff, but this has got to be the biggest collection of MG guys in one room. I am currently restoring a 39 MG WA Drophead. The car came to me in pieces. So, now I need to see a real one for reference and pictures. There was one lurking in southern California a while back that was unrestored, but it has disappeared. Does anyone know where this car is??? Further, What I need to see is not so much the DHC part of the car but the mechanical, pipe routings, wire routings, etc. This being the case, ANY WA would be helpful. If you UK guys know of one, I will be in the Southern UK in September, anyone know of one I could visit there?? Thanks Joe Potter Eugene, Oregon USA www.hometown.aol.com/capaciousmg/vasale/vamain.html http://hometown.aol.com/jtpaki/index.html

Joe
You possibly know David Washbourne who is one of the SVW stalwarts here in UK [and lives very close to me here in Surrey]. I feel sure that David would help you to find a suitable car to inspect in September, if you have no luck in the USA before then. Contact me off-list if you would like me to assist.

Joe, I'm not 100% sure but I believe Peter Welch has one in his collection in West Vancouver. I can probably check for you and I'm sure he'd be happy to show you if you made the trip. It's only 4-5 hours I think. Ross

Re: [mg-tabc] Anyone Know Joe - you need to get in touch with David Washbourne who runs the SVW register of the MGCC. I shall see him at Silverstone and will ask him, he knows of mostly every car in the world . His tel. is +44 (0)1483 282379, don't think he has email. cheers TCRoger
