Post by Mark Stolzenburg » Mon Apr 23, 2001 8:05 pm

Does anybody have a source of the captive nuts that fit on the driveshaft/propeller shaft tunnel? I need 4 of them. Thanks, Mark Stolzenburg Stolzy40@peoplepc.com

Fw: [mg-tabc] Captive Nuts

Post by Mark Stolzenburg » Wed Apr 25, 2001 8:20 am

Several list members sent messages regarding the above subject and I thank them for their responses. Several also asked if I found a source to let them know. Well the source I found was Fred Kuntz at the Whitworth shop. I asked Fred if I could send the info to the list members and he agreed. So here's the notes, so everyone know what we are talking about! Thanks, Mark Stolzenburg PS. Badger sent me a note that said if I was looking for "Captive Nuts" to check the T-ABC Forever list - Right on Badger, I think we are all a little nuts, we probably have to be to work on the TC's

I don't have any in stock right now, but can make some up in a day or two. I suppose it's alright to mention on the list that I make these. Let me know how much they cost - I need 4 of them. BTW I've had a couple other people send me a note asking if I find a source to let them know. You don't mind if I put a message on the T-ABC List do you? You and Craig have a fantastic reputation with T restorers so I know you'll probably get lots more requests for "D" nuts!! captive nuts

Post by TMcNam4510@aol.com » Thu Sep 15, 2005 3:53 pm

The adventure continues..........TC 2850 is coming slowly along. The body tub is my current focus and here is my question. There is a small rectangular, metal plate located in the doors. They have a captive nut in each corner. It is used to mount the plate used to hold the side curtain on. Mine are missing all but 1 nut. I have found a plastic #10 nut that fits nicely but would prefer the original type. Does any lister know where they can be had? Thanks, Tom, TC2850 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Where can I buy captive nuts for the foot-rest part of the firewall, and 1/4-26 square nut covers for the radiator? Picture 8 (pg. 13) of http://ttypes.org/ttt2/pdf/TTT2-Issue8.pdf shows the covers. Thanks, Chris

Abingdon Spares has them. The square nut and the metal surround are sold as one unit. Page 23 of their catalog. John Seim Irvine, CA
