Hi there ! I own a 2006 (the real Kawasaki green ones) and since I own a new garage I tought that it would be a good idea to spend some time bringing some youth to my beloved machine. Here https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/DSN_KLR650/photos/photostream/lightbox/1216279942?orderBy=mtime&sortOrder=desc&photoFilter=ALL# you can see how it is possible to bring back the original color to the plastic body parts. (Ok, I am not quite sure how to insert photos in this message, sorry for that.) By the end of winter I should have a brand new old 2006 ready for summer ;-) JL

What method did you use to restore the plastic? Mine are faded red, not as bad as some, but red doesn't hold up well.

I wrote up the process of using the heat gun to restore plastic on my KLRs a few years ago.  It should be in the archives.
