brake light flasher

Post by Matthew » Mon Jan 28, 2002 11:01 pm

Anyone know where to get those little flasher deals? You know, the things that make the brake light flash a few times when the light first comes on. I have been thinking about adding one also, or adding a short LED above the actual tail light and running the flasher unit to it and leave the stock taillight do as designed. JC Whitney has them on there website. http://www.jcwhitney.com/productnoitem.jhtml?CATID=62606&BQ=mot $19.99 and the light I was thinking about for $8.99 http://www.jcwhitney.com/productnoitem.jhtml?CATID=62583&BQ=mot Just my $.02 worth. Maybe on a secondary brakelight, but dont think I want my brake light flashing slow like a blinker that nobody pays any attention too anyway. A Flasher is slow and steady, where the pulsator cycles bright to dim 5 times a second. Think about driving down a dark highway, you see flashing yellow lights that are slow and steady, what do you think typically ? Car on the roadside with a flat or something, now same situation and the flashing lights are red and flashing quickly, whats the first thing you think ?? Mr.Police I bet. Again, just my $.02 worth.. Hey Matthew, I have something like that rigged on my bike. I bought it through a company in Pennsylvania called LifeBrite (lifebrite.com). Three years since I installed it and no problems with it. Install was easy too. FWIW... "Mokan"

I'd be more concerned about having an epileptic in a Suburban pulling up behind me at a stop light. Brad J. Morris A16 Illinois

thanks you'all for the replys. I see there a few diffrerent kinds. I saw a pair on a bike at a stop light the other day. I think they worked well. was fairly bright and flashed real fast for a couple secs then stayed on. I like em! Also ill be looking into adding a couple extra lights to her. I guess maybe some kind of fog light getup. Is it ok with stock elec system to add 2 lights? I want to run them along with stock lights for at night on twistys.. --- bradmorris64 wrote:

Take a look at the Priority Plus...it may do what you want. You will be noticed. SOS Priority Lite Plus Turns stock rear turn signals into running lights and flashing stop lights. Apply brake; running lights flash 1-2 seconds, then full brightness. Does not interfere with brake light operation. http://compacc2.competitionaccessories.com/on-line-store/genericproduct.jhtm l?id=32117 and http://www.chaparral-racing.com/ PRIORITY PLUS Item # 307-4051 Your Price: $64.99 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love mine...and many of my friends have added them.
