Apologies if have already posted on this topic: The left main bearing race is only listed as part of the left case (must buy both case halves). It's a much simpler operation to swap the bearing race than to replace cylinder liners for many bikes. Heated the case with propane, tapped out the race. Simple. I have a broken case with good race & a good case with bad bearing race. Simple swap, FWIW. Haven't done the reverse but clearly is not an issue. The two vertical 6 mm bolts which hold the package rack to the sub-frame are very often broken when KLR come here. My usual remedy is to drill out and thread to 8 mm. There are two KLR in the garage and about to be modified as a preventative measure so thought to toss this out there. Can post photos if it would be of value...?
