advance notice of sale 2008 klr

DualSportNews' KLR650 Discussion List Hi guys,

I have been a lurker here for years, and several of you have helped me with mods and even a muffler trade.

I need to spend more time with the family and less time by myself out on the motorcycle.

So before I post my bike for sale elsewhere, I wanted to give you loyal riders a shot first.

It is a Blue and black 08, with a few farkles, mostly protective plates etc.  Nice Heidenau K60 tires front and back, probably have 8-10 k left on them, only about 1-3 k of riding time on them, I have to check my records for sure.  I love them by the way.

Yuasa battery put in last fall, and kept on a smart trickle charger from Fred when not riding.

Has 12,000 plus a little miles on it, I change the oil every spring and fall, and it only had 6,600 miles on it when I bought it in 2011.  I clean off and relube the chain with WD-40 after every ride in the dirt or dust.  Otherwise I don t clean much on it, to me it is a trail-ish bike, not meant to be pretty.

So as you can see I ride it just enough to keep her smooth, probably average 80 miles a month.

I am not sure if the original owner fixed the doo hickey, I have not opened that compartment to check.

On this list I would sell it for $3200, probably ask $3700 when I post it to the general public.

It has always run great, only trouble was the original battery died the day I was going to leave for the Pucky Huddle ride, and I ended up missing it, because I couldn t find the battery I wanted.

Oh by the way, I am in the St. Louis , MO area.  I m 50, and an average rider, so it hasn t been ridden hard, it has seen a few mountain trails in VA, and the Back of the Dragon, before it was called that, (you should check that out, lots more turns and much longer than the Tail of the dragon.   Over 140 miles long if I am not mistaken.  At least that was the loop I did.

Give me a call or email if you are interested.

I thought about it till I saw the price, and it made me take better care of my 76CSX. m1. a satisfied 76CSX user (but you have to understand its limitations. cough.)
