fuel additive question

Post by Martin Earl » Sun Aug 28, 2016 1:57 pm

Did you check your oil level, with the bike vertical.... KLR make racket; more if you have a metal skid plate. If you want to ride with a nearly quiet bike, remove ANY skid plate. When you install the metal skid plate after 'running silent' for many months, you will get a real chill down your back. Still, check your oil. Do you have a new doohickey installed vs the OEM quadrant balancer spring tensioner?Perhaps you need to adjust the doohickey.Additional racket could be a failed 'do-hickey', lets hope that is not the case.

As I was nearing home, I started hearing a tapping noise from the engine. Does anyone know if I did the wrong thing and what should i do next? I added about 1 ounce of 44K to super unleaded. The bike has 27k miles. Thanks for any help, Larry

Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Colorado Springs ROCKIES ETC. Hi Mark The state part where we stayed was         high on the side of the mountain beautiful over looking the valley. You can see forever. If you going to explore the area, state,  Head toward Montrose.  From there there are a ton of places both on the road and great off road rides.  Head up to the million dollar highway toward Tulluride and the abandoned mine.  Great places to visit.  Head out to Durango.  Leave Montrose heads south on highway 550 from Montrose.  Very mountainous so leave the camper and either take the car or the bike.  You can pull the camper over the mountains but way to much trouble.  Wish I was going back.  I am envious.  LOL  Have a great trip.  Remember Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the U.S. Air Force Academy.  That trip from Colorado Springs to the Montrose area will take about a day with a camper. Hope this helps Gary

Welcome to the Springs, Depending on the type of camping you want to do around the spring, there are a lot of different types of camping areas around the spring.Muller State Park. ( in between Springs and Cripple Creek)Eleven Mile State Park Cheyenne Mountain State ParkFountain KOA.A lot depends on weather you want to travel East or West, North or South.Estes Park is about three hours from the Springs. Enjoy your visit. I ve lived here since 1992. KenColorado
