hydraulic clutch modification completed

Hello Group,
Sorry if I am late to the conversation on hydraulic clutch line/lever.
After years of adding weight and complication to my bike, I now ask myself these conceptual questions every time I add to my KLR:
Is the item necessary for riding function?
Is it adding potential failure points or simplifying points?
How much maintenance will it need?
How long will it last?
If it fails, can I keep riding?
Is it a hey-look-at-it farkle or a functional upgrade?
Is it an existing function upgrade or, new functional ability (that the bike was not equipped with)?
Is it for rider safety?
Will it pay for itself if installed?
Can I fix it or replace it, in outer Botswana/Katmandu?
How much safety/smiles will it give me?
Will it attract women or old retired guys?
How much beer and steak can I get instead?
Is there another solution?
But the most important of the above is #2 and the last: Is it adding additional failure points? and; Is there another solution?
I am now actually taking off farkles and crap off the KLR's.
Is anyone taking stuff off that has been added?
