will a 16 tooth sprocket fit with a standard length chain (106)?

Listers, I am sure this question has been asked and answered many times before, but I couldn't get the search feature to work.
Is the standard length chain (106 links) long enough to accommodate a 16 tooth front sprocket with the standard rear sprocket (43 teeth) on my 2006 KLR 650?
Thanks for your input and patience.

So that's, what, a 1988, 2004, 2005, or a 2006? Even if it's a 2006, with 322 miles, that's 40 miles per year. Who buys a bike and only puts 322 miles on it in 8 years? You'd think they'd come to the realization much sooner that they don't want to ride it, and sell it after a year or two, not nearly a decade.RyanPhoenix "zoot zootpatutie@... OK, sometimes you have to give a little on your demands. Settled for red, soon to be pink, but priced for a song and with only 322 miles on her, ooooohhh, that'll do. Brought her home, named her Purr, and now start the farkle shopping and transfer. Still has the front forks in shipping mode and the 500 mile break in to complete. Can't believe it.

I'm 98% sure that I didn't do anything to my chain when I put on my 16t sprocket. That last 2 percent uncertainty is because I swapped sprockets on my CRF450X around the same time, and did do chain work, which is blurring my memory.RyanPhoenix "jim witler jims1800@...
