Hi there.........In most cases it is not the Bike that becomes the Insurance Companies liability it is the Rider and Passenger. Pat A19

What you are paying for is liability to the other motorists. Medical is an extra expense. I am already covered by my HMO. My comments on insurance were based on the legal requirements, meaning 10,000/30,000 insurance, although I have 100,000/300,000. Comp is extra (and a waste for a $2500 vehicle) Collision is extra (and a waste for a $2500 vehicle) Medical is extra (I have other insurance) I think $5000 is required by law. Uninsured motorist is extra (probably a good idea, but not on a $2500 bike and me having other health insurance) Jeff A20 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I went to http://affinity.progressive.com/ and they told me KLR650 comprehensive insurance, 100/500/100 $100 deductible would be $65 per year. I guess it pays to be a geezer with a perfect driving record. Norman

Doesn't Uninsured Motorist cover liability too! I just went with Arrowhead thru Ais Insurance; I took 100/300 on Liability and Uninsured Motorist; $500 deduct on collision and comp; I have 0 yrs on record for street use; only a permit so far; no license; 2006 Klr; $191 premium, plus $28 first year policy fee. I thought this was great. ???? jokerloco9@... wrote: What you are paying for is liability to the other motorists. Medical is an extra expense. I am already covered by my HMO. Liability insurance protects the other guy if you smash him. The uninsured motorist protects you if the other uninsured guy damages you. Yes, you get to pay for more insurance because the other guy doesn't have insurance. Yes, here in Los Angeles, with such a high number of illegals and non-licensed drivers, it is a good idea. Some areas of the city exceed 50% non-insured drivers. Jeff A20 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

When I moved from Minnesota to Arizona my insurance went from $160 per year to $240 per year .. the insurance company figured I could ride year round here .. and they were right! When I got 'whacked' last year the person that hit me was under-insured .. and I didn't have under insured or uninsured on my cycle .. my attorney is now going after my car insurance where I have both coverages. It seems to vary by state .. but if you have un and under insured on a single vehicle it will cover any accident. Seems to be the case in AZ .. as I said though it seems to vary by state. Insurance companies don't want you to know this .. ask you agent and watch them squirm! :-) -- Al Maurine Tucson, AZ 94 R100M Mystic 01 F650GS Dakar ABC# 8240 MOA 48987

Hey Al, Not sure who you are insured with, but through Progressive with full coverage including glass and road side assisstance mine cost is 150 for the year! My agent says I live in a 'good zip code' so maybe that's why? 85747. Anyway, you may want to check it out. Rick Hutton Tucson, AZ --- Al Maurine wrote:

I insure 3 bikes for $16 less than that in Texas. I used to have Progressive but those crooks pissed me off one too many times. Foremost [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
