One has to wonder what was in the minds of the designers as so many wires cross back and forth for no purpose. There are around (25) junctions within the harness and many redundant or return run circuits. Grounds run past other ground junctions and then connect to another junction which feeds back to the one by-passed, and so on. Maybe I will redo the stripped harness in a more efficient manner and then swap into my bike. Here are some more updates to the files. Some plugs have been added to the diagrams and more junctions to the descriptions. I will continue refining but cannot guarantee that the links will remain current so if you find them to be of value, I recommend that you download rather than to depend on the links. I reposted these again with corrections & additions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/myd0l3glu2pswxr/KLR650%20Wiring%20Diagram.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/1aa332xtwql4dbc/Individual%20Harness%20Plug%20Pin%20Outs.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/th0clvcw0wd36lh/KLR%20Gen%201%20Pinouts%202_Page_1.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/fakbncdralk6359/KLR%20Gen%201%20Pinouts%202_Page_2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/fakbncdralk6359/KLR%20Gen%201%20Pinouts%202_Page_2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ek2z0d4iqa6joln/KLR650%20Wiring%20Plug%20Identification.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/4vg9xfoxmx8pbpz/Main%20junction%20plugs%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/xlxaivs7ojttifw/Main%20wiring%20plugs%20under%20the%20dash2.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/qwzjrfh8o9feqrn/Plug%20Identification%20By%20Number.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/31fqzde221ovhmj/Starter%20Relay%20Area%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sl3mrpldx08i2oc/steering%20head%20area%20wiring%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3kx86cry74d8v5/steering%20head%20area%20wiring%20lower%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhmzi458opiauh6/Trigger%20Coil%20Neutral%20Switch%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ncd09p3w65o8gz/VRR%20area%20labeled%20%282%29.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/bkfwez7x1oy2ogi/Wiring%20harness%202%20labeled.jpg?dl=0

I plan to identify the junction locations on a wiring diagram in a similar manner to the plugs and to do some other work but after many days of solid attention, it's enough for now. Here is a link for the folder in which all the useful final copies should be found. I would appreciate any and all review as want to catch errors or conflicts. One point I see is that junctions should be identified in a manner such as "J16" rather than "16" and will need to go back and correct the under dash diagrams so that some don't show plug numbers while others use letters. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uha92pqkxq4eoaw/AABwFh5AIevN4dlJeZUitdjsa?dl=0 Something I really need is for some users to go to their bike and find some electrical component or plug, then see if they can use the on bike photos and identification to find the corresponding plug on the wiring diagram which is laid out. From that, can you find the nearest or pertinent wiring junctions locations? Do the junction locations allow you to find the circuit on the wiring diagram, also can you work the other direction? If you have suggestions as to how to better arrange/file/order these, please let me know. I cannot guarantee that the Dropbox links will remain active so recommend that you download the files. Later on, when this is put to bed I plan to use the donor harness as a basis for an improved harness to do away with the redundant wiring. Norm
