It's not completed but might prove useful as reference. Hoping to get the remainder of this section completed but may not have another complete day for a bit. These projects eat a amazing amount of time to to the back checking and cross checking.  Here are photos showing the locations of the wiring junctions within the harness: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jy5no323xeo9va8/Junction%20Points1.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/jp368tctkvbsha0/Junction%20Points2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zz2p6vjb34pxyrx/Junction%20Points3.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/cryf4cu1l05ogmt/Junction%20Points4.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/mx2c5l0ml67i3lb/Junction%20Points5.jpg?dl=0 Here is the description completed so far: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mz9mosr376ew2rs/Junction%20Descriptions.doc?dl=0 Plug pin outs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1aa332xtwql4dbc/Individual%20Harness%20Plug%20Pin%20Outs.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/th0clvcw0wd36lh/KLR%20Gen%201%20Pinouts%202_Page_1.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/27vj7jbz47v0a94/AAAfJdZzpPfPmraUw42AWXfVa?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/myd0l3glu2pswxr/KLR650%20Wiring%20Diagram.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ek2z0d4iqa6joln/KLR650%20Wiring%20Plug%20Identification.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/4vg9xfoxmx8pbpz/Main%20junction%20plugs%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/xlxaivs7ojttifw/Main%20wiring%20plugs%20under%20the%20dash2.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/qwzjrfh8o9feqrn/Plug%20Identification%20By%20Number.doc?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/31fqzde221ovhmj/Starter%20Relay%20Area%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sl3mrpldx08i2oc/steering%20head%20area%20wiring%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3kx86cry74d8v5/steering%20head%20area%20wiring%20lower%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhmzi458opiauh6/Trigger%20Coil%20Neutral%20Switch%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ncd09p3w65o8gz/VRR%20area%20labeled%20%282%29.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/bkfwez7x1oy2ogi/Wiring%20harness%202%20labeled.jpg?dl=0 Lots more to come. Anyone who has not been into a KLR or other bike wiring harnesses may wonder why Tom & I discussed simplfying the KLR harness. There are many odd and inefficient strategies in this harness, such as running the stator wires up to the overflow tank area and then back to the VRR. Common grounds inside the harness which, rather than joining to the nearest Black/Yellow wire junction, run past that one to another further along and then back. I'll bet I could achieve the same function with 1/3 to 1/2 less wire. ;-) Hope this is useful to someone. When it's all completed, I intend to print it onto paper and then see if it can be simplified. Please see if you can find a component, then see its relationship to the wiring harness and wiring diagram as well as the reverse. The intent is to eventually have a resource to allow anyone to locate a component then trouble shoot, or to replace any or all of the harness including determining where wires carry different color codes on each side of a plug.
