Flat rate is 0.3 hours   Even re & re of the stator is 0.9 hours flat rate.   In case this is useful to someone, I ran into this flat rate time chart for the KLR:   https://www.dropbox.com/s/j8sdu21e321xt96/Flat%20Rate%20Times.pdf?dl=0   At $100.00/hour and 0.3 hours ($30.00) to re & re VRR, I'm wondering how it required nearly 5 hours to diagnose or whether there were other operations performed?   I find that the answer in these matters is usually that there is something missing in the communication.   On the other hand, it is fairly typical for bike shops to charge for parts and time even if these do not solve the problem. Automotive generally don't do this (at least in my long experience in the industries) so one usually won't find an automotive shop throwing parts and spending endless time guessing on your dime. Lots of reasons, IMO, for this but wildly off the topic.   For that kind of money, I could do the job at $100.00 per hour and replace all the electrical components which could possibly affect the charging system, including running new wires. For that reason it would be interesting to try to discover what was included. On the face of it, it sounds like someone has included the same labor times under two operations and so in effect double charged. It might be oversight by the service writer and so require a line-by-line review of the work order. FWIW, it can be confrontational to go back to review for a second or third time so might be better to try to work through the questions here where there are other eyes on the questions.
