one way to spice up the ride

We used to take a short cut on the train track bridge going over hwy 360 in DFW. Not a wise thing to do but we did. Good idea to know when trains came through.

In Louisiana we came upon a four wheeler (what was left of it) that's owner was using the track to make better time and to go over the swamp. The family sued the railroad for killing their son. They lost, but it actually went to court. Not smart. In the US most of the tracks are switched from a dispatching center. Most of the BNSF is in Fort Worth, TX. Most of the UP is in Omaha, NE and Spring, TX. They can not see you. It takes an average freight train going 50 mph about 1.5 miles to stop. Please stay off the tracks. There are spots that railroad track riding is mandatory, especially some large river crossings. But dangerous to say the least. They not only put themselves in danger, but they put the crew to the train as well. It the crew goes into emergency and something is just not right it could cause the train to derail. I work for the railroad and would call the police on anyone doing this. The tracks and both sides of the track (usually 15 feet plus) is private property. Stay off of them. Again STUPID. I wonder if they would like it if I went into their driveway or backyard and road around. On Sunday, September 7, 2014 3:18 PM, "'Norm Keller' normkel32@...
