				Estimated timing for swapping engines?
While I have changed out Shocks etc etc etc. on my 07 I sometimes wonder about high miles.
And  while there are plenty of other 07's with LOW miles, (2,400-7,000) I figure it would be cheaper to, buy a bike Swap the engines, (& od) then to pay all the state fee$ 
And "easier"????? (biggest question here) & cheaper then swapping or RE-buying new F&R shocks, bolts, brakes, REwiring, etc etc etc etc.
It "LOOK'S" like a 1 day job. (or do you have to tear the swing arm etc off to take the engine out? (PS. 1 person do the work)

				        While I don't know the total time for engine  replacement. I can say the time to remove the swingarm, regrease the bearings  and replace solo was about 90 minutes working out in my  driveway.
 Can you do an engine swap in a day? I'd say yes,  with a friend's help.
Stuff like drain and remove the radiator, remove the  swing arm, exhaust system, etc... is tedious but not horrible. Do them for both  bikes at the same time, side by side. Make a list (game plan) and combine  tasks when possible. And take pictures!!!   =)

				Manuals VERY 1st thing I get for any car, truck, motorcycle, boat-motor etc. I buy. 
when I can find them. LOL I should be picking up a 1960 "Tote Gote" tonight. (proper spelling)

This will likely throw things off schedule unless both bikes have been well serviced but the job is not difficult, just lots of turning.   +1 regarding the manuals, taking pictures. I recommend that you use a series of parts containers so that the fasteners for each bike are not mixed and that you have a small container for each area of each bike. Working out which bolt or screw went where expands time to a huge degree. Some pieces of cardboard with sketched locations (smaller outline) through which to poke fasteners according to their proper location can really speed things and avoid using a too long or too short fastener.   Develop some system to keep the order of disassembly in sequence so that the sequence can be reversed during assembly. Nothing wastes time quite as much as pulling things apart to include a step which was by-passed.    Cleaning/chasing threads is another consideration: have thread chasers and or taps & dies, torque values and specifications required for reinstall. Looking things up during the work is a real "time eater", especially as hands can be dirty and brain not the most open to looking or deducing that the torque for something must obviously be the same as for something else.   Bring it here if you want a hand. That's why social conventions develop to allow us to predict others intentions based on signals.    We had a golden retriever dog who was poorly socialized to other dogs was a puppy (previous owner), who ran, full speed, up to other dogs when they were encountered. This often resulted in fights or defensive reactions on the part of the other dog, some of which our wolf-malemute had to bail him out of. Could never re-train him so the problem persisted and caused him to become more difficult with other dogs as he aged. Once he was used to another dog, he wasn't so enthusiastic in approach so the conflicts didn't occur.   My point is that exhibiting a behavior/broadcasting a signal which communicates a message having a very different social convention is unlikely to begin an interaction on the intended basis. Stick your finger in my eye and I will likely assume that you aren't trying to be my friend. The rude/aggressive or "fish eye stare" seem to be very inefficient means to opening positive interactions. In these circumstances, IMO, people are playing some sort of pretend game which is not rationally based in what is known of human behavior.   You are obviously correct in asserting that we cannot know the person's intentions based on such limited data. Probabilities seem to indicate that most people would close off communication. If closing communication is what he wanted, then that signal is most likely to be successful, IME. If he wished to escalate negative interaction, probabilities based on ordinary western societal interactions, that may also be successful.   As I may have stated before, different groups can use opposite signals to indicate intentions which is why members of one dog pack or chimpanzee troop may create unintended conflict when encountering members of the other. This is the root of much/most of the historical animosity between European language speakers and New World Aboriginal language speakers, according to linguistic research. I have been able to explore and duplicate this for myself but this simply reinforces the problem of knowingly broadcasting signals opposite to normal social conventions. It is far too easy to encounter conflict without working at it, IME.  

   As you indicated, we cannot know but most people will not remain open in the face of a negative signal, IME. No idea how to fix this and do try to check out what people really do intend before acting. Being lazy and having other things to do, I find that I need more reason/potential reward to encourage me to move past negative signals as I get older and crankier.

				                    How to calculate the time required to       do something for the first time...
       
       1)    Estimate how long it will take.
       
       2)    Multiply by two
       
       3)    Raise the answer to the next higher unit of measurement.
       
       
       For this job, apparently => 1 Day times two equals two days       raised to the next higher unit = two weeks.
       
       
       Sounds about right to me.  Could be a bit short.  Maybe a month.

                          While I don't know the                 total time for engine replacement. I can say the time to                 remove the swingarm, regrease the bearings and replace                 solo was about 90 minutes working out in my driveway.
                            Can you do an engine swap                 in a day? I'd say yes, with a friend's help.
                 Stuff like drain and remove the radiator, remove the                 swing arm, exhaust system, etc... is tedious but not                 horrible. Do them for both bikes at the same time, side                 by side. Make a list (game plan) and combine tasks when                 possible. And take pictures!!!  =)

                                      While I have changed                     out Shocks etc etc etc. on my 07 I sometimes wonder                     about high miles.                   
                                      And while there are                     plenty of other 07's with LOW miles, (2,400-7,000) I                     figure it would be cheaper to, buy a bike Swap the                     engines, (& od) then to pay all the state fee$                    
                                      And "easier"?????                     (biggest question here) & cheaper then swapping                     or RE-buying new F&R shocks, bolts, brakes,                     REwiring, etc etc etc etc.                   
                                      It "LOOK'S" like a 1                     day job. (or do you have to tear the swing arm etc                     off to take the engine out? (PS. 1 person do the                     work)
