Since I had the cams off to change out all 4 shims I went ahead and advanced the ex a tooth. I used to move the cams via slotted sprockets on my 77 GS 750/820/870 Yosh Suzukis depending on what kinda track layout we were playing with to move the torque up and down the rpm range a little. Been too long ago to get into details of engine building back in those days using dial indicators and changing LCs and moving ignition timing, but it worked.
The research I've look at shows a torque increase in the 2.6 to 5 thousand rpm range. Right where I ride 90% of the time.
seeking left mirror part - got parts?

OK, y'all please bear with me as I do not know the part number; I am wondering if anyone has a KLR that they are cannibalizing (for parts).
The front plate (front side) on the left side of the handlebar (that holds/attaches the left hand rear view mirror and houses the choke) broke. The entire housing did not brake, only the front plate of the housing that holds the left mirror and the choke. So I seek a replacement for a 2003 KLR. Hope I am making sense in describing the part?
Anyone got one that they can part with - and how much? Later today I am going to the dealership and will get the exact part number.

eddie,Fred has a 'mirror perch' that will replace the semi-circle of the left quadrant/bracket.Your mirror will screw directly into it; you will also relocate your choke to that bracket as well. Win, Win for all.revmaaatin.
