this fan issue is making me nucking futs. help!

1st. I would do what Jeff suggested.
2nd.YES! a brand new item right out the box/bag can be bad. (20 yr's as a service tech. soing Alot of warranty work.
3rd OR 1ST. Get a Multi-meter, even a $6. HF cheapy will do wonders around the hm. (even check your AA & AAA Batteries)
A simple $25. one would be better.
I have several from $3.99 on sale HF to over $500. the $20.+ is what I use around the house & Bike, riding mower etc. alot.

So when the switch in the bottom of the radiator closes to complete the electrical circuit the circuit is not completed by the radiator mount to the frame. To test this guess you can touch the wire to the switch body. The fan should come on. If it doesn't it suggests the ground is missing. My next guess is adding a wire from the radiator to the frame will complete the circuit. To test this guess you can fasten a wire to the switch body and the frame and see if the fan then works when the wire is touched to the switch body.
