Next time somebody is contemplating doing this, I'll pay for the smog check. Before and after.

When you get a better feel for gas mileage, tell us what those numbers, I would like to know. I go from 52 to 37mpg; a lot dependent on throttle settings, speed and headwinds. Headwinds here can move the mpg 10mpg or more at 70-75mph. The best mileage occurs at Which brings me to a different subject; when you hit reserve, reduce throttle setting to 50/55mph and conserve fuel. I believe 45mph will give most bikes max range. If you ever have to use double secret reserve (twice) you will know why you want to go to max-range; the pig is unpleasant to pick up after doing a fuel transfer and it a bear to push by yourself. m1 On Sun, Aug 3, 2014 at 10:28 AM, zoot zootpatutie@... Initially had a stumble at 3k, fixed with moving the dyno jet needle clip from first slot to third (richer), and then subsequently turning the pilot screw in from 2.5 to 1.75 out (leaner across the foundation mixture). Got rid of the forever hunting pace at low gears, mid rpm around town. Acceleration smoother through the power band, better in the mid and upper passing pull. Less compression braking when setting up for a corner, but nothing a gear change doesn't solve. Some loss of mpg on the first fill up, but haven't finished that assessment subsequent to pilot screw change. Currently at 212 and not on reserve. Engine feels happy if that's of any value. IRC GP 110 tires. Reasonable price, predictable off road, solid in the corners. Best for me, and I don't air down at all from 36/38. YMMV Thanks again Rev. Todd I came across this Jan 2013 post from Eagle Mike. He did the mod on a Gen2, said he might try it on a Gen1. The thread seems to end in Feb 2013. Seems too good to be true, but I m about to get my A13 s valves adjusted and considering the source, I got a little excited. I replied to his most recent post today, asking for an update. http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=109196 -James
