klr 650 ...valves ..again...

All,
Just want to be sure before I button everything back up , If I understand correctly once I have the arrows on the cam sprocket lined up with the top of head it does not matter if they move up when I install the timing chain tensioner , correct ?
let me know .. beautiful day today ..craving for a good case of monkey butt ....

I have often wondered what a change in valve timing might do for the KLR. I don't have access to a dyno so never did anything about it. Good to see someone experimenting. I have a hunch that advancing the exhaust cam timing might result in more power everywhere, but more emissions everywhere too. Just a guess. Based on freer gas flow and less piston pressure on the upstroke.  At the expense of more unburned hydrocarbons being released. Only a sniffer would tell the tale. Robert Wichert P.Eng. Not sure what the enricher cable is. <><><><><><><> <><><><><><><>   The enricher cable is what many people call the choke cable.   The difference between an enrichener and a choke is the enrichener adds fuel while the choke reduces air.  Both change the air/fuel mixture but in different ways.
