Wife is getting into riding off raod a bit. We got her a 250 DS bike and are looking for ez off road riding areas so she can get used to riding dirt. Took her to foresthill twice but, the trails are a bit tricky for her so far. Any ideas on any place to ride close to sacto. that she will have more fun on than the rockier trails at FH and PC. Fireroads, powerline type dirt roads.   thanks Jim

There are some great dual sport road all over the United States.  When I say that many are just unimproved (dirt) roads.  You do have to look out for traffic (4 wheel type), but they are great for teaching the basics.  Just look at your maps, I am sure you can find some great roads.  Who knows where the adventurer can lead. You might enjoy Lowell Hill road behind Dutch Flat, basically take I-80 to Dutch Flat and and turn onto Diggins Hill-It's small alley near the post office- kind of tricky - There a very nice staging area near the small reservoir at the intersection of Diggins Road and Lowell Hill, you'll find both fire roads and power line trails....It should make sense if you're able to view it on Google Earth.Enjoy
