I haven't done the doohickey yet on my new engine from US Marine Corps Barstow Logistics...it seemed like new when I installed...My old engine did have a doohickey blow up despite having upgraded the doohickey and even opening it up an extra time to put the shorter spring in.  So, while I think the factory doohickey is lame,  I also think there is a chain stretch issue and that is why mine blew despite having enough oil(though it got low but not that low) and despite having the doohickey upgrade. I doubt any serious need to upgrade the doohickey till 20k miles.  Even if stock doohickey isn't putting any or much tension on...the failure won't happen till you get more slop. Jeffrey #3

We all know the topic of the STOCK Doo.
What about The KLR's, that the U.S. Marines use?
They have their KLR's, SUPER FARKELED, So what do they, do or demand, about the Doo H.??
Doo Hickey, Sub frame bolts, T-mods, (no carb) ETC ETC ETC.
Besides being Diesel, I would love to know, what is "STOCK", (difference) for the U.S. Marines KLRs.
