Hey Calling All Tim Taylor/MacGyver's
The Harbor freight lift is/was on sale, and they have a "EASTER SUNDAY ONLY" 25% off one full price item.
(on sale now $339.)
I know John B. modified the hand crank, for holding the front wheel (A MUST)
 and...... if I remember right, Eye bolts NEED to be Added, so straps can be used.
What else is Needed, & please send my Email Pics. of your Modifications.
Also, Does the 113 inchs for full length include the ramp?    (With Mod's can/should be removable).

On Sale Now for $299.99 but, it says "can not be used with other discount or coupon..." Still $300 is a good deal. I will be buying one. Tim

Obviously, I agree with the others regarding adjustment + concerns. Just thinking to add a couple of thoughts:

I've pulled many side covers to check on Doohickey condition and observed many which have not been adjusted for an extended time period.  On release of adjustment bolt, with broken spring, the lever & eccentric do not seem to rotate. For this reason I tend to discount the concern that adjustment will become looser if trying to adjust when spring is broken. I have heard numerous reports from people whom I credit, that there was more vibration after attempting adjustment when spring is broken.

So, here's my question: "If the adjustment does not seem to move when adjustment bolt is loosened, is tapping the bolt/cover likely to increase the risk that the adjustment will move to looser if the spring is broken?"

I think the observations tend to support this hypothesis so offer it, not as dispute, as a basis of discussion.

Another aspect of Doohickey adjustment which is sometimes offered is that backing the adjustment bolt further than necessary may allow the Doohickey to slide out on the eccentric shaft. If this were to occur, then it may bind when bolt is tightened, resulting in distorted Doohickey around the slot. The distortion may subsequently result in the Doo' becoming loose if the distortion subsequently yields, and/or crack/break the flexed area. This is one of the reasons offered for the early recommendation that the adjustment be done with bike tipped to the right, in my recollection. Not convinced that it is a credible concern but see no reason to dismiss as it's easier to do the work while bike is angled. Maybe I need to loose a little tummy padding? ;

Recently received a flyer for $299.99. I am going to contact the local HF to see if there is an additional discount for Easter. I live in Sacramento CA and we used to be known for its agriculture and one of its many nicknames was Tomato City. From age 6 to 16 I grew up in Agland and love it. Play all day in the fields, swimming in the irrigation ditches (aka irrigation canals), catching lizards and snakes, hunting and fishing, and would be home by dark. Still enjoy the Tomato City feeling. Just the other day riding north out of Big Pine CA I caught a glimpse if an irrigation canal and it made me smile. So 'tomatocity' is a good thing as is being raised in agricultural land (Agland). ps - the wife of a YamahaSuperTenere.com member knew what and where 'tomatocity' was and of course he had to confirm that. I guessing he lost the bet. Tim

OK, I found two different lifts at HF.com and they have different specs and the same price $429.99. #69904 is 113 in long, 33 in high, 31 3/4 in wide#68892 is 101 in long, 34 in high, 32 in wide #68892 is $429.99 less a 25% coupon = $322.25.#66982 is on the $299.99 coupon. Are they phasing out one of these lifts? Guessing #66982. Any thoughts? Tim
