utc time on watchs?? (nklr)

Post by mark ward » Wed Apr 16, 2014 2:16 pm

Hey all Geeks.
I just got a new casio pathfinder PAG240-1 watch and it has UTC time mode.
Why would someone NON- pilot, military ETC ETC. use it??? (need it?)
Or should I just forget this function?
Thanks

Not certain that I'm clear on this but think the OP does not have a broken Doo' and is thinking of replacing while on the road?

I recommend leaving it alone until you get home. While we hear about every Doo' problem on the web groups, it is well to consider the statistics and probabilities. It is so unlikely that you will have a Doo' issue as to not be significant. IMO, the chances of some other problem in the course of replacing are much higher so based on probabilities, I'd leave it alone until somewhere where it won't matter if the bike has to be tied up for an extended period.

FWIW, I don't remove the inner cover as it is much quicker and easier to use a pair of external snap ring pliers to spread the old spring's hook to clear the post in the cover. The spring will then unhook from the lever and come out in one piece. Cutting the spring introduces the risk that the piece may fly into the innards, IMO. Not  big deal either way if one takes precautions.

One will install the EM torsion spring of course (?)  so no need to place the new spring onto the post.

Another option is to ask for the help of someone closer by and do the work there. In a worst case the bike can stay there in safety until you can return to collect it.

Certain you've already considered the above so apologize if sounds like it's preaching to the choir.
