water on back trails.

Post by mark ward » Sat Apr 05, 2014 8:28 am

Hey many of us carry some water, BUT it's not always enough, especially if we break down.
AND, MANY uf us carry extra tools and extra 1st  aid.
GETTING HIGH REVIEWS
Check out "LifeStraw" 2oz. aprox 10x1.75 inchs. Only $20. ($19.95 cabelas etc,)
can provide upto 264 gallons (1000 liters) 1 years supply for 1 person. depending on the amount of debris in the water.
99.99% of junk out.
Just stick it in water and SIP AWAY. when done drinking, blow backwards to clear out water etc.)

odyssey batt

My Odyssey is into it 11 year and it work very well when subjected to cold temps-here in WI tis year it got very cold - it sat uncharged all winter and lost but 1.8 volts. So I can't complain.  Note it also is smaller than the standard battery but easily handles the KLR needs.
Re; the LI batteries- I know of a LI battery that failed during an off road trip after a cold night in Idaho but that was some time ago and I wonder if anyone has more current (no pun intended) info on their sensitivity to temperature.  They are very enticing aren't they.
