OK, next test is coming soon!
By the way, if the cap is whistling, does that mean that the vapor recovery isn't working? I mean, whistling OUT would be supposed to go to the vapor recovery, right?

When the bike isn't whistling (engine off), give it a good shake from side to side and see what happens. I bet it starts whistling again.

Yeah, but what does a hot engine have to do with a whistling gas cap?

Yes, Jeff. We went through this months ago. I found all of your pictures and based on the complicated nature of the ting, I bought a brand new one. The whistling doesn't cause any problems. The engine doesn't stall or stumble. It just whistles.
What I can't figure out is why, for the love of money, it continues after I open the cap and reclose it WITH THE ENGINE OFF!!!!!

Robert,
Inspect and clean the fuel tank cap vent system. See this thread for
instructions. You may have to log in to see it.

Also, make sure the vent tube at the rear of the tank just in front of
the seat isn't pinched or clogged.
Best,
