emergency repairs

There was an article in a mag on how to do in the field, (roadside ETC) emergency "repairs".
(I use the word "repair" lightly here, because a true repair is finial, and Duck tape, (My favorite "tool") is a TEMPORARY PATCH.)
They showed how you can use Gasoline to clean a dirty air filter, then use motor oil Or Chain lube to RE-lube the filter.
ALL ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, MEANING DUMPING THE GAS ON THE GROUND.
(POLUTION! A different issue/topic. I'm AGIANST POLUTING)
Any ways.....I still say IN A PINCH, Just "washing" out the foam filter with WATER, Would GREATLY REDUCE, the dust etc. stopping you from getting on your way. (home, shop, motel, ETC.) So you can Properly REPAIR the issue in a safe & proper way and area.
Just think of when Our HANDS get dirty and greasy, WATER REMOVES ALOT OF THE DIRT, while leaving behind the OIL, NEEDED ON THE FILTER.
2 CHOICES! GAS AND OIL, ON/IN THE GROUND OR, DIRTY WATER.
(depending on how hot the water, or if soap is used, maybe a SLIGHT bit of oil also.)
