Dawn is good for water skiing too.
I have never tried Simple Green for that.

Dawn dishwashing cut about 75% with water for many years and many tire changes , both on KLR type tire and Sporttouring type tire. Believe me, I'd rather change tires on the KLR types ( DRs/DRZ , etc. ) 10 times before once on my Bandit 1250s.
What not to do with KLR or any tire. Use simple green straight because your too lazy to walk the 30 feet necessary to get the Dawn solution to lube a tire and rim and used the Simple Green cause it was 3 feet away from the tire machine. Results were about a year later, the rubber and alu rim had fused together in many places. Took awhile with a wire wheel on a 4" grinder to remove said material. Tire was an Avon Gripster and this happened about 8 years ago. Guess who don't use Simple Green on tires no mo.

Pam, works for carb installs (rubber boots) as well. Keeps my eggs from sticking in the morning too. From: nomad59@... Sent: Friday, November 29, 2013 10:12 AM To:

Hey YA'LL I just watched another Tire changing Video, and again, They use "Mounting paste" (lube) to mount the tires. I have yet to see anyone use lube to REMOVE IT, OR ON the Tire IRONS. After breaking the bead, 1st thing I do is wipe in some lube INSIDE THE RIM AND ON THE IRON ENDS. You're pulling DRY RUBBER off the DRY RIM. HAS SAME RESISTANCE ISSUE AS GOING ON. ALSO When remounting the tire, the tire iron goes between the NOW lubed rim OR lubed inner tire Bead. BUT the outer edge of the bead is often still dry, and the DRY Iron has the fight the bead as it "SLIPS" (ya slips LOL) over the rim. I carry dish soap in my tool kit, water is often hand, THEN clean up, with the same small bottle of soap. RECYCLE: If you know someone (or YOU) that drinks those little 5hr. drinks, those ARE TOUGH little bottles, I have NOT had one leak YET. PS, NOTE: MOST people I have talked to, (including my self) think you are to drink those little bottles in ONE STEP. WRONG! for 5 hours (FIVE NOT 3) you are supposed to drink them in 2 stages a few hours apart. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. LOL
