Looks like the Thermo-Bob is my next project.

It depends what you call "normal" for the temp swings . If your cage (car) had the same problem you would probably change the Thermostat, right ? That why I installed a while ago the Thermo-Bob , no swings ,ideal combustion temp. ABSOLUTELY NEEDED ON A KLR .....

Yep, the temp can swing by large amounts depending on your speed. It's "normal" for the KLR. Ryan Phoenix, AZ Stu Mitchell wrote:
