There are several types of Plastic Renew products that will take off the oxidized finish and make your plastic look like new. http://www.pcracingusa.com/Plastic-Renew--Motorcycle_p_79.html There are several other ways to get your shine back. If you are careful, a heat-gun can be used to make your plastic look like new. Some have had good success with Lemon Pledge. Painting looks good when new but I haven t seen a paint job on plastic that doesn t eventually cause more upkeep than the stock finish. I guess it all depends on the finish that you want. It is faded. Is there something that will restore the look or do I need to repaint. If painting is the course, any suggestions on the type of paint and the procedure for doing it, or any other advice. Thanks, Robert [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Subject: RE-Faded Fenders
The Dot 4 break fluid made the faded fenders look good for a little while but then after a day they were worse than ever. So, I tried the heat gun. It reminded me of trying to paint with an air paint sprayer that was almost completely stopped. Worked about an hour with it before noticing that it had another gear that made things go much faster. Fan speeds were the same but no. 2 was much hotter. It was even hot enough to well some small cracks and fill in some scratches. It looks good. Hopefully this time it will stay. Anyone got any idea how long it will be before it is faded again. I'm no sure the sun did it because it was faded in places where the sun don't shine. I'll see if I can attach a pic. This bike is for sale and I do have a clear title. It has only 3200 miles on it. I'm thinking I need to get $3400 with the seat that is on it or $3200 with a stock seat that I have that is in perfect condition.

+1 on the careful application of a heat gun.
