Can anyone out there give some advice on troubleshooting a nonfunctioning headlight? I've replaced the bulb with no luck. 2003 KLR 650.

<><><><><> <><><><><> Dan, On the Gen I KLRs the headlight fuse is located under the seat next to the main fuse. They are glass style fuses and the headlight fuse is 10 amps and the main fuse is 20 amps. Sometime the fuse will look good but will actually be bad. Many people replace the glass style fuses with ATO style fuses which may be easier to find on the road. Take a careful look with the instrument cluster and see if the gage lights work with the key on. They are also powered by the headlight fuse. The fuse is known to sometimes blow if the operator makes a slow switch between low and hi beam. Both beams will be on for a brief interval and may blow the fuse with nothing being wrong with the system.
