What to do what to do. I want to gear the bike down for the upcoming Roaming Rally but plan to retire it to a life of commuting and travel at the end of this summer. The dirt part will be handled with a more dirt happy bike after this fall.
Someone had mentioned they just swap front sprocket to change gearing and after some carefull questions Fred has settled all of my concerns. I ordered a one tooth smaller front and a one tooth larger front with a stock rear and a new chain. Smaller will crank up the rock climing mud stomping ability while the flip to the larger front wont require a new longer chain to be put on. I get the best of both worlds. Yay me! Thank you Fred!
Still trying to sort out the rear suspension. The new fork springs are in the forks although I havent dumped the oil in yet. New tires are standing by and there will be new tubes to accompany them by the end of today.
I leave June 13th for the Roaming Rally in Canada and want the bike done by the end of this weekend if I can get it there. at least that gives me some fall back time. More important I still really need to look it over carefeully before I go
