neutral light out
Sent from my iPad
Hey KLRistas, my neutral light is out and. I replaced that sender thingy down by the counter shaft...but that wasn't it. So I will try the bulb on the dash. Does that just unplug from the bottom?
One thing.....my neutral light has been staying on for the last couple years and I never bothered to see why.

<><><><><><> <><><><><><> Criswell, What year is the bike? As best I remember the Gen I KLRs are an easy change from the back of the instrument cluster. No idea on the Gen II KLRs. On the Gen I KLRs the switch provides a ground to the light. Power goes to the light from a brown wire that also feeds the tach and coolant temp gauge. So if the tach and temp gauge work you "probably" have power to the bulb. For the ground side of the circuit it has a couple of possibilities. The green wire is the ground and it branches to the neutral switch when in neutral provides a ground and lights the bulb. It also goes to the starter lockout switch and the diode unit. Depending on the situation might depend on whether the circuit is grounded or not. My guess is you have/had an issue in the starter lockout switch wiring. Also the possibility of a short to ground "somewhere" in the green wire.
