As spindley as the KLR chassis is, I'd hate to ride it hard with that much HP and torque on it. Only mods I have on my KLR is Progressive fork springs and recalibrated Speedometer ( magnet job ) . Only different things are the 09 carb with tune-able mixture screw and 09 or 08 shock. Love it just the way it are!!!! If I want to go fast, got the 1250S Bandit that's way way too fast for my mind.Andy in Jennings. --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Fred Hink" wrote: > > Steve Kesselring is still around and has changed his business slightly aiming more toward car and suspension performance. > http://www.performance-design.net/ > Steve has gotten out of the big bore kits but was one of the first to do this with the KLR many years ago. the gino years & speed
Speed is over rated, I've done 160mph in cars a few times, 140 on a bike a few times, 120 Still at least!! a few times per yr.
It's all about the Terrain, the "RIDE", Like my 1st time having "SEX".
In all new "terrain", That was beyond my imagination, Heart was racing so fast, The SCREAMS INSIDE MY HEAD, OH MY GOD, I can't believe what I'm doing. I need to STOP!, While CRAVING MORE! WOW!!!! THIS IS AMAZING!! But I should stop, I'm going to end up in the hospital. WHA WHOO Who ever thought it was gonna be THIS GREAT!
Body SHAKING, Things FLOPPING everywhere. SWEAT DRIPPING, CAN'T BREATH.
"THINGS" Going way to FAST!, Yet taking way to long.
The next few times SAME FEELINGS But with a better IDEA as Where to put "THINGS"!
While hanging on for dear life.
Did I mention I was only going 20-35 average the 1st day out. (Death Valley) 50s- 60's the next few days.
PS. About SEX? You would think that at 50 and 3kids, 6 grand kids, All the books I "READ" (lots of pics LOL) I would have been ready.
It's about the QUALITY NOT THE SPEED.

You have to furnish your own bed roll, sleeping bag...whatever on minimalist spring mattresses. They do have an air conditioner.....which is good.....and they are next to all the tent folks......for good conversation. If you want to camp for real.....far away from truck noises, car noises etc.....there are tons of great places....up in the La Sals, Slick Rock, along the river.....me and a friend found a great place south right by an Arch...no one around up on a Plateau somewhere west of Wilson Arch? I am still trying to refind that place. Of course....then you aren't by bars, good restaurants or good conversation. The Ying and the Yang. Always pluses and minuses. > > Criswell > > Sent from my iPad > > On Apr 3, 2013, at 3:25 PM, Jeff Khoury wrote: > > > About what do they run per night? > > > > -Jeff Khoury > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "John Biccum" > > To: "Jud" , "DSN KLR650" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> > > Sent: Wednesday, April 3, 2013 12:52:59 PM > > Subject: RE: [DSN_KLR650] Re: Moab in May??? > > > > Agreed on 2 per cabin. I have camped at the Canyonlands Campground, and never worried about my stuff there, as long as it was mostly full of motorcyclists. Get too many RVers or quad scum, though, and all bets are off. I like the cabins there, too. Real cheap for four, but a little crowded. Still cheap enough for two, and much more comfortable. > > > > --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com , mark ward wrote: > > > > > > I was 1st thinking a Motel, so my gear is locked up while off exploring all day, > > > THEN When I seen $185.
