From the parts fiche it appears that the rubber diaphargm is not sold seperately from the valve, even though it comes apart. Anybody found a replacement other than the $100 stock part? Randy

The Harley part is about $40.00. (Some Sportsters also use the CV40, like the CVK, but not for Kawasakis). While you locate the part, you could try a repair with RTV. Not a sure bet, but I have seen BMWs go tens of thousands of miles with a patched-up diaphragm.

There was mention on the newsgroup last year about patching the diaphragm with a Napa rubberized coating - the stuff you dip your tool handles in. IIRC, the person had it last 10 or 15K miles. Try it - you have nothing to lose.

So the diaphragm is permanently attached to the slide? Really? It looks like it has a screwed collar, but if not, I'm screwed if I need another one. Robert Wichert P.Eng. LEED AP BD&C +1 916 966 9060 FAX +1 916 966 9068 ===============================================
