Post by mark ward » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:11 pm

Hey John When is Your group planning on Being IN Moab?? If I plan it right, I can be there for BOTH Groups. Leaving from Michigan With so many from the list going to be in one area at one time, Alaska may have to Wait. (I know it will be hard on THEM, (Alaska) if I do not make it this yr.)

Here's my tentative track, only the first three days are really planned to any degree. http://goo.gl/maps/wbUUG We're just going to play it by ear and enjoy. My brother will be coming in on I-40 from Oklahoma, that's why we're meeting in Winslow. The first night is in Kayenta, and it will be a relatively short day because I've always wanted to do Monument Valley at sunset. I was there about a year ago and it was phenomenally beautiful, but I couldn't wait around for sunset as I was being chased by a storm. This time we're going to explore the area and try to make it back to the observation point by sunset for good photography opportunities. After that, it's on to Moab, finding a motel for "base camp" and just planning day rides with tips from locals or the Internet. On the way out, I'm taking UT12, and I want to do the Area 51 loop, but I will most likely be alone on that leg. -Jeff Khoury ----- Original Message ----- From: "david zawadzki" fordavidz@...> To: "Jeff Khoury" jeff@...>, "jim witler" jims1800@...> Cc: "mark ward" nomad59@...>, "List KLR" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, February 21, 2013 12:57:18 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Moab in May??? We will be arriving in town on the evening of the 20th barring any tragic circumstances. The initial meetup is on the evening of the 18th in Winslow. -Jeff Khoury ----- Original Message ----- From: "mark ward" nomad59@... > To: "List KLR" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2013 1:00:50 PM Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Moab in May??? Hey All Have Y'all penciled or INKED, in dates for Moab? It Would be nice to have some Face time, even if the skill level or Routes chosen lead us down seperate "trails", but would have some evening meals etc. to BS. I'm still debating, 3-4 good size rides IN the main 48, OR 6-8 weeks rt to Alaska. I have wanted to get back to Bar Harbor Maine, (& North) when there before a Huricane was coming threw in 2 days, so I was only there on the Island, about 8hr.s Also Never been to Moab and want to return to Montana to camp & fish. And many more. Besides everyone should at least once in there life time, get a picture with.......................... ....Freds Famous car. Since day one, there has only been a period of a few months that this list allowed attachments on your messages. If you want to post a photo, you can put your photo in the photo section and then add the address to your email. Allowing attachments was a problem for a few of our members. Fred List Admin.
