To all who knew Mike, I did not but have a buddy who was in the South East Asia War back in the early 70 s or so. He was nay and filling choppers with defoliant. He was retired from our common employer and had no benefits for a period of time due to transistor form being laid off to his retirement....background info only. He started to get sick as a dog, found out he has leukemia. He went to the local Veterans Support group and they got his butt into a series of discussions with the Navy. They reviewed his time in service and saw he was possibly exposed to the Agent Ornges defoliant.
To make a story useful...they gave him a full Navy disability and covered all his medical to a point better than his corporate retirement bennies would have been.he is still around being a PITA on a Honda 350 twin in the Antelope Valley.
I know this is too late for Mike. But if you know anyone with agent orage exposure please have them. Get with theVFW andVet Affairs and move on this.
Bob work in some nasty conditions in industry and the Navy said they were ignoring that and said they take care of thier sailors..this is a change I know and may not be well known, but try anyway.
I personally have working in materials R&D for most of my career. Some of the chemicals around are very nasty even those we used to consider safe.
Do not dye your hair..do not use stuff on your skin you cannot identify through the mods as safe, etc.
Take care
