klr extra lights

Post by Gary Thacker » Wed Feb 06, 2013 2:20 am

I went to Wally World and got a cheap set of driving lights. I think they were 20 bucks. Right in the spirit of the KLR. I think they are 55w each. I did run a dedicated line and switch to them. They came with the standard U shaped mounting bracket for a car. I mounted them at the top brace point above the turn signals on either side. They really work great. Now to be honest I wouldn't run the lights without a bit of rpm they do draw a bit but they do light up the road. If I know I will be riding under 2500 rpm for a while I turn them off to keep the battery draw down. Normally it's not a problem. Heck I have been able to run the lights and my electric jacket at the same time but only over 3k. O7 KLR Gary Souderton, Pa. It's not a pretty installation but it's worked without needing a repair for four years now and did not cost much at all. The bike has a Silverstar H4 bulb too. https://picasaweb.google.com/116400403409443624294/KLR650ExtraLights?authuser=0&feat=directlink -- Ian Francisco http://www.scarletfuries.com http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Scarlet-Furies/121218125931 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
