adjustable levers

I mounted some barkbuster type hand guards on the stock bars after breaking the oe clutch lever. The replacement levers are longish and some nudging and compromising had to be done to get everything to fit. The levers are well protected but my hands do not benefit from any wind protection. So, I am considering making my own "shorties" out of those inexpensive levers. My hands are not large and my fingers are on the medium to short side and I don't have a problem reaching either clutch or brake on this bike even with bulky gloves on. Remember that when you bring the lever closer to the bar the amount of available travel is reduced. That can lead to the brake lever touching the bar before max braking force is applied or incomplete disengagement of the clutch, neither of which are good. Maybe there are some real-deal adjustable sport bike style shorties available that fit our KLRs. Fred?
