vendor friday: lightweight alcohol camp stoves
Unsolicited thumbs up. These are truly great little stoves. Way ingenious, easily packable, and impressively made. Thanks Mark, and best of success to your daughter.

UPDATE: We have only 3 kits remaining!
Green is sold out. However, we have one other green one from
when Evy was first learning to use the drill press. It has two burner
holes spaced noticeably closer together than the others. We didn't
intend to sell it, but if someone is set on green, we'll make it
available. It is otherwise 100% presentable and functional.
More details on the kits below.
Thanks for lookin'!
Mark
The price is $25 per kit which includes postage in the US ($30 to Canada).

Note: Because they are made by hand, you may experience slight
cosmetic variations from kit to kit. However, all kits function 100%
and will provide years of productive use.
Why? My 15 year old daughter Evy, is a Whitewater Slalom Kayaker and
member of the 2012 US Junior Team.
She also earned the bronze medal at this year's US National
Championships race, sharing the podium with this year's US Olympic
Team member and a US Senior Team member.
As a fund raiser to cover her travel expenses for the upcoming 2013
season, we crafted limited run of lightweight camp stove kits, with
stoves manufactured from 25oz aluminum water bottles. While this
technology is not new, we have done much R&D to create a lightweight,
durable stove with known performance characteristics in a variety of
operating conditions.

spammers
hey fred ... and my fellow KLRistas ... that is my policy. however, wanted to share a recent one. somehow or another a spammer got a hold of my address book or ... something? i received an email sent with a friend's name (on my contact list) in the "from" area. i fail to recall what the subject line said, but it seemed relevant. there was a link, but it was accompanied with the text "this is pretty cool, check this out" --- that text is something that my buddy would've said. so i clicked on it. luckily it wasn't malicious, but it WAS spam. i asked him and he assured me he did not send it. they are getting to the point where they are including text now. just a heads up. ;j it's always an adventure ed rock newport, tn 09 klr650 (Ms.Chif) 07 gsf1250s (Cloud9) 01 gsf600s (Pearl) 84 vf750f " the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, but that doesn't appeal to us riders anyway" -- Ted Dorsey>________________________________ > From: Fred Hink > > >There have been a few messages recently that are obviously sent by a virus on list member s computers.
