Used a mx last summer on a longer trip. Liked it good. Wore earplugs and
carried a neoprene face mask for rain and hail. Really liked the visor for
sun riding. Wind wasn't a problem.

Subject: Re: [DSN_klr650] Helmet
I rode the past 2 years to work on paved roads, and backroads on
weekends, and I used a DOT Snell approved MX helmet and goggles all summer,
no major problems. There is more noise, but I've gotten use to it. I got
caught in one major thunderstorm (while wearing a tank top and shorts) and
it felt like I was being shot with BB's!!! I would not recomend wearing it
in real cold weather (50 degrees and below) I made that mistake back in Oct,
air got in between my helmet and goggles right at my forehead, it felt like
someone was drawing a knife across my forehead!!! Got a full face the next
day. But other than that, they are lighter (mine is), feel real good on 100
degree days and to me, more comfortable. I've never had any problems with
the visor, either, while riding past 75 mph

I wear a Shoei full face helmet. But it I'm traveling 90% of my time
off road this summer is a dirt oriented helmet with goggles better?
How are the off road helmets on the road? In the rain? In the cold?
In the heat? Noisy? Thanks Pam
