The bigcee FAQ (god bless it) says to use the 'D606 REAR 130/90x17' tire by dunlop. Normally, the KLR is suppose to use a 130/80x17. Above the tire sizes it says that use of other size tires can cause interference. What kinds of interference is there for using the 130/90 instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

The rear D606 fits. I rode all day Sunday with someone who had one on his KLR. 130/80 and 130/90 are the same width, one is taller. nomorenoless@... wrote:

Mike, Just went thru a set of D606's on the KLR, zero interference. In nutshell, best off road tire I've found for the KLR, not the best on road. That said, after I wear out the Continental TKC-80's recently installed, will be going back to the D606's. Really miss the superior off road handling they provide. All best. I agree on the 606. I'll cope with the less than best street characteristics. Don't want to get caught in a bind like I did with Gripsters off road. I have had the 606 up to 95 mph on the street and they acted O.K They are noisy but that doesn't bother me. They probably wouldn't work well on wet pavement but I don't run into that much. HHHAAAAARRRRR!!!!!! Get your ear plugs ready!!!!!! I love these tires. Sure don't need deer whistles with this tire though!(They scream like a biatch!) I'll continue my lower than most pressure of 25 to see if I get can keep my maximum patch on the ground. We'll see if I get the 9000 like I did on the 858s! I run 35 in the rear, 32 in the front. Even at that pressure, I didn't have any problem last weekend on muddy or snow patches on an otherwise dry FS road. It's fun playing snowblower...

Here are links to a couple of video clips of my KLR650 My brother is on the KLR, I am following on my DR650 Camera mount was loose and the poor camera took a beating. The green lines and specks are not in the originals, only in the upload. So either YouTube or the upload process, damaged the clips. Tam Location, Ozark National Forest. Pope county, North of Hector Arkansas. Date 07/15/12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2tSQpHDqPw Up a short trail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34tTeYj9YVQ back down the same trail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CpfDonw1NU The state has had severe drought conditions, but we finally found water. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCkmIY9jS1gThis is listed as a county road, at times it looked more like the a creek bed. I have a chance to pick up 2 new D606 for $95 each, seems like a deal to me. And as I have a KLR650 and a DR650 (both use the same size tires) I think I should get them. Any thoughts as to a front tire to match with them? I will be riding mostly off pavement (most of the time I have a 20 mile run to reach the dirt roads) I have a Kenda 270 on front of the KLR now and it seems to work well. Thanks for the input so far. I pay $74 plus tax for D606 rear tires at the local dealer. If your off road time is spent in loose surface the D606 front is not a bad option.
