I changed the OEM Dunlop rear tire on my '07 yesterday to a Kenda 270
and took it for a spin. I was surprised how slippery/loose it seems in
the corners on asphalt (compared to the Dunlop). I got used to leaning
the Dunlop WAY over in the twisties but it's slightly unnerving with
the Kenda. I have 36psi in it and the axle is torqued properly. Is
this just a matter of getting used to a different tire profile and
compound? I plan to do a month in Alaska this summer (from BC) and
am 'hoping' not to need a tire change during the trip. What can I
expect distance-wise from this tire, loaded up with gear (but I only
weigh 160)? I have a front Kenda I'll change before I go also.

I also put a Kenda big block on my 2011 Klr650 ,and I felt the same.
