adjusted idle now stalls

What is the recommended idle speed? I recently purchased a used A15 which seems to idle a little high 1500 RPM after it warms up. Also, where could I find diagrams for the carb? Cheers Robert A15

If I recall correctly, 1,350 is the official idle speed. Mark

I think its 1100 RPM, thats about where I keep mine. My custom choke has been broken. So I pinch hold of the idle speed screw and turn three times... so maybe maybe one full revolution. This is my choke and high idle putting it between 1500 and 1800 or so. Has worked well although first start of the day can be a bit much for the battery and starter for optimal life. This morning, and the reason I have the time to type this now, bike won't start. Just a wee bit too cold without a choke. Ran the battery down juuust before it was going to light. Grabbed the battery I jumped it with yesterday... took it down to nuthin' too. Set 'em both to charge. Bolted on the kick starter, which I knew wasn't going to do it cold with no choke and no compression. (bad rings) KIIICK! Broke my big toe, I think. Sitting here ice'n on it now. Watch your "wide platform" foot pegs if you install a kick start on your 1st gen KLR650. Mech
