What's up with the bracelets made from a woven length of parachute cord?
They sell these as "survival bracelets".
Let's see: I need a piece of rope about 6 feet long in an emergency situation.
*Too short and too small to support my weight.
*Not long enough to use for much more than a tourniquet.
*I have to have both hands free + the time to unravel the rope to use it.
Hmmmm.
I keep 550 cord in various lengths stashed in pack pockets, a saddle bag,
my tool kit, riding jacket pocket, etc...
All longer lengths of cord and easier to get at/use.
